The years are going by quickly, too quickly. 11 years ago... it just doesn't seem that long ago.
Today is our 11th anniversary together. Gussie was 11 weeks old when I got her on Dec 5, 2011.
I'd been considering getting a dog. It was fate that 11 years ago at 10AM, I got on the web site of the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue organization. I saw a baby Lab with a funny face, and I had to have her. She was in Denver. It only took a few hours to get approved, so at 10 PM I had a scared baby back at Keystone. Neither of us realized how many great times and friends were to come.
I thought I was getting a dog. I didn't know I was getting the love of my life.
She makes people smile every day. I hear comments like "every time I see you it just makes my day". Of course, she was speaking to Gussie, but it's nice to hear.
Here's the pictures of the last year:
At 11 years old, she sleeps late, which is great, but then she wants to be outside as much as possible. She was doing 6-8 miles a day before the snows came. Our mileage is up since I've gone electric. She's so slow, but that's because she's lazy and just does not want to hurry for anything. She runs when she chooses to. Mostly, she strolls,
In this picture, the first row is 11 weeks to 8 months, then 1 to 5 years and bottom row is 6 to 10.
Almost every year on her birthday and our anniversary I make a video, so most of the ones on my YouTube channel are of her:

If you'd like to see the long video I made of her first 10 years, just scroll down a little.
The tenth anniversary of Gussie and me living life together. She is as close to perfect as a dog can be.
Here's a chronological video of my 10 years with the best dog I can possibly imagine. I tried to cut it
down, but I couldn't get it less than 12 minutes.
Turn up your speakers and click the little icon to the left of Vimeo at bottom right. This is best full screen on a computer, but if you're on a phone, rotate it 90 degrees.
